Your child learns best when everything connects.

Biblical worldview and Scripture are woven throughout the curriculum, giving you simple ways to point your child back to truth as they learn about the world around them.

With Creatures in Creation, your child will begin to understand how God created animals to live and interact within their habitats while building a foundation in basic geography concepts like continents and oceans through real-world connections. As they move through each lesson, they will practice writing simple, complete sentences to communicate their ideas clearly, while also learning to observe, record, and think through what they are discovering.

Through daily lessons, your child will grow in independence and develop a natural curiosity about the world through interactive learning and guided exploration.

  • How many lessons are covered in this curriculum?

    30 weeks, with 150 lessons

One curriculum set per child is recommended. Children need their own materials to write, track progress, and fully engage with the activities.

No, Creatures in Creation provides a strong core for 1st-grade, focusing on biblical worldview, science, literacy, basic math, and geography skills. Everything connects together instead of bouncing between subjects.

  • Do I need other curriculum with this?

This is a 1st-grade core, but math and reading should be added separately. We recommend Connections for 1st-grade reading curriculum.

  • What does this curriculum teach about Creation?

Creatures in Creation is written from a biblical worldview, specifically a young-earth creationist viewpoint. We teach that God made the world in six 24-hour days, exactly as written in the Bible.

  • What Bible translation is used?

Bible references are provided so families can use the translation they prefer.

  • What are the credentials of the Not Consumed team?

The Not Consumed team exists for one purpose: to help your family grow in faith so you can live #NotConsumed. We are homeschool parents with over 220 years of combined homeschooling experience, advanced degrees in education and curriculum design, and a deep love for serving families well. Every Bible study, family resource, and homeschool curriculum we create is anchored in Scripture and made to be practical, clear, and easy to use, because we know your days are already full.

We believe the best learning happens when families gather around God's Word together, so we create resources that work across ages and stages to make that time meaningful, approachable, and real.

  • What do you believe?

I believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth.

  • Is the curriculum accredited?

Though schools can be accredited, there is not an accreditation program for curriculum.
