The JOY Prayer Cards are a complete set of 28 cards organized into four themes, each lasting for one week: my family, my community, my nation, and my world. Each card emphasizes the JOY formula for praying: J-Jesus, O-others, and Y-yourself. They come in a sturdy gift box that is perfect for daily use.
Think of it as a prayer journal, but in card form. The goal was to help my kids have IDEAS they could reference as they prayed so they wouldn't fall back into rote or meaningless prayers.
Why You'll Love The JOY Prayer Cards
Do you ever get tired of hearing the same rote prayers uttered by your children? Do you find yourself desiring a better way to teach them to truly pray?
I know I sure did. I realized that their prayers were the same because they needed me to teach them the kinds of things to pray for. So I created these simple prayer cards to help my kids get out of the rut of "thank you for this day" prayers and grow spiritually through a vibrant prayer life.
These super thick and high-quality cards encourage prayer through suggestions and Scripture. They have been designed specifically with multi-ages in mind. Parents can use the cards with young children by praying and reading through them as a family. As children get older, they have the freedom to use the cards to support their own prayer life.
The JOY prayer cards have been an invaluable resource to help my kids GROW in faith! Are you ready to give your kids the tools they need for a deeper and more meaningful prayer life? Let's do it!
If I am honest I don't pull them out much because I forget they are there. When I do pull them out I am always so glad I did and giving myself a hard time about why I don't use them more. They really are a great prompting tool to help your child go a little deeper!
I purchased these cards to see if they would exceed my expectations or if they would be gimmicky. I was pleasantly surprised that not only were the cards of high quality, but they also contained way more on them and references to scripture on the card. You could use these as a devotional before prayer. Amazing! Can't wait to get the other sets in the future!
As a family we love the JOY Prayer cards so much that we gifted them to our children’s teachers this year. At the end of the school year we put together our favorite items as a family and put them in teacher appreciation bags. Every dinner one of our girls prays using the JOY card. As a family favorite we had to pass along to other families. My girls are growing spiritually; I love to hear their prayers!
The Joy Cards are so awesome. I love how it allows my children and I to have a more specific prayer time before bed. They look forward to pulling out one of the cards to pray.
My kids each take a turn being the daily prayer leader and we use these cards. Each child has a turn to lead the prayer for each card and then we get a new one. It really helps them learn to pray for various topics. I recommend these cards all the time as a great addition to our homeschool Morning Time routine.
I got these cards for my 10 year old son for a stocking stuffer gift this Christmas. For the first week or so I did them with him, one each day usually during breakfast. Now I encourage him to do them on his own. They are beautifully done and so easy to use. He has always struggled with "knowing how to pray" and I feel these cards provide some simple direction and are easily expounded on into a small devotional since he looks up and reads the scripture provided with the prayer for each letter (JOY). Would totally recommend these!
These are beautiful, sturdy, and most of a such a wonderful tool to use to encourage children to pray. I would definitely recommend them!
It's so easy for kids to say the same thing every time they are asked to pray during family devotions or at mealtime. These cards help our kids (ages 9, 11, and 13) to break out of that habit. They are also helpful for parents because the cards remind us to pray for a variety of people (homeless, military, police, single parents, etc.) whom we might not always think to include in our prayers. We own both the JOY and ACTS cards. The kids prefer the JOY cards.
