What do you believe?

We are Bible-believing evangelical Christians. It's our mission to create products that handle the Word of God accurately and literally. We aim to get families into the Word for themselves and challenge them to read and think about it carefully rather than relying on the words and ideas of others. We believe all families should be asking about the theology of the resources they use, as nothing is neutral and everything has a worldview. Here is what we believe:
The Bible is God's Word and the final authority for everything we believe and how we live. It is completely true and trustworthy in all that it says, given to us by God down to its very words. There is one God who has always existed as three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God created all things, including human beings, by His own direct act. Salvation is a free and forever-secure gift, received by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus came in human flesh, was born of a virgin, and rose bodily from the grave. He will one day return in person, in His own body, to reign on the earth for a thousand years. This return will be personal, bodily, and premillennial.

Is the curriculum accredited?

Though schools can be accredited, there is not an accreditation program for curriculum.

Great for reluctant writers

My son has disliked writing from a very early age even coloring was a struggle. This is broken down in small parts that are easy for him to handle and gets him writing/ physically spelling each day. He also struggles with open ended questions wanting to know the "correct" answer. This reading journal is helping him realize that not all questions have just one answer. I also appreciate how it ties in biblical viewpoints for any book you read, making my child really think about character traits. One suggestion to users is that this is meant to be used along side the reading, I made the mistake and thought it was for after the novel was finished. Even still it's pulling from his memory.

My son is excited about using this journal.. We both love how you can choose the books that you want to read!! I love how this is laid out, it looks fun and exciting, which is great for kids, because it will draw them in! Honestly, when I looked through it, I wanted to use it myself. We love the quality, and the work that went into this!

I think it would be a great idea to adapt this for an adult wanting to use this for fun. So maybe just remove the composition at the end.🤪 but then add more adult level questions or other activities that would be help them to retain information.

Fantastic reading journal

I love this journal! I love the format, layout, questions, all of it is fantastic. My 11 year old is enjoying it so much more than a traditional literature curriculum, he gets to read books he likes! I love that I can see on paper what he’s actually taking away from the books. The questions are open ended so I can really see his thoughts. We have added grammar and copywork along with this to create a well rounded LA course for him and we are having a great school year!

Thought Provoking

I purchased this for my daughter and I felt that she actually understood the book well, she analyzed it, rather than reading and then taking an AR test to see if she remembered what she read.

Wonderful Journal for My Son

I have a son who doesn't love to read and this is his first year homeschooling after public school. He is already enjoying this book and the smaller daily assignments. He has voluntarily completed several pages and is reading his book every day. This journal is such a blessing! I love that it asks thought provoking questions and also compares the book they are reading to biblical truths and gets the kids to think and discern deeper about the book they are reading. Great journal!

We loved this for my middle schoolers as my high schoolers used the journal for their level.

Freedom to Choose

My soon to be 6th grader has struggled with our LA curriculum due to not enjoying the reading books required. We decided to try out this reading journal and so far so good! He likes that he picks the books, the prompts are short but educational. It’s a great starting point for LA for him (will be adding grammer, spelling, etc.)

Game Changer

While my daughter now loves to read after leaving the school system, she still prefers to choose her own books for reading assignments and reports. This journal was a gamechanger providing some guidance and boundaries which allowed me to see how she was doing with understanding her chosen literature. Since it specifically says to choose fiction and non fiction it opened our dialog to choosing some new genres with little resistance. My daughter has adhd so breaking up reading pages and assignments were just perfect for keeping it simple. Love it!!

Reading Journal Grades 6-8

I am so impressed with the design and detail included in this reading journal. The layout is easy to use and the questions and activities are more than just writing answers. They inspire deep conversation about the book being read and encourage critical thinking skills. I am most thankful for the family time it allows through conversation about style, purpose, connections, vocabulary, worldview, application, and so much more. This is a win for our family.
