Independent Learning Begins Here

The elementary years are the time to start handing over more responsibility. You still decide what needs to be done and lay the plan out once at the start of the year. From there, your child learns to use the weekly checklist to see what comes next. Instead of waiting for you to direct every step, they begin working through their school day with more independence.

The undated planner also keeps the important parts of your homeschool year in one place. Grades and attendance are built in, with space to keep reading and field trip records, too. Scripture, daily habits, and monthly goals give kids regular practice at following through. Age-appropriate life skills give them even more ways to grow in responsibility at home.

Features

Know What Comes Next

The weekly checklist shows your child the next thing to do each day. They work through the list and check off assignments as they finish.

Build Daily Habits

Quiet Time, Scripture Memory, and other daily habits are built right into the planner. Your child gets regular practice following through without you having to create another system. Goal pages give your child a place to set a goal for the month and watch their own progress.

Check In Together

Student and parent evaluations give you a simple way to look back at the week together. Your child begins noticing how well they followed directions, worked independently, and handled responsibility.

Practice Real-Life Skills

Age-appropriate life skills are included throughout the planner. Kids practice useful responsibilities at home while learning that growing up involves more than finishing schoolwork.

Keep Homeschool Records as You Go

Attendance, grades, book and media logs, field trip evaluations, and a year-at-a-glance page stay together in one place. As your child uses the planner, you are also building a useful record of the school year.

Keep Scripture in Front of Them

Weekly Scripture and built-in reminders for Quiet Time and Scripture Memory help keep God’s Word part of the school week. Kids have regular reminders to open the Bible and spend time in Scripture for themselves.

FAQs

  • What is inside the Elementary Homeschool Planner?

The undated planner includes about 250 pages in a 7"× 9.5" spiral-bound format, with monthly tabs to help kids find what they need quickly. You’ll also get two full pages of stickers and a two-sided bookmark/ruler. QR codes throughout the planner link to helpful how-to videos when you need them.

  • Will all of our subjects fit in the weekly checklist?

The weekly checklist is designed to keep assignments simple and easy to scan. One homeschool mom shared that she uses it for 8–9 subjects per child, including work from their homeschool co-op. You can list the lesson or assignment your child needs to complete without rewriting everything from the curriculum.

  • Can elementary kids really keep track of their own assignments?

Yes, but you are not handing them the planner and expecting them to figure everything out alone. You set up the assignments, and they learn to follow the checklist one day at a time. Moms have shared success with 7-, 8-, and 9-year-olds, including kids who normally struggle with organization and sticking with a plan. The goal is to build independence gradually while you are still there to guide them.

  • What are the credentials of the Not Consumed team?

The Not Consumed team exists for one purpose: to help your family grow in faith so you can live #NotConsumed. We are homeschool parents with over 220 years of combined homeschooling experience, advanced degrees in education and curriculum design, and a deep love for serving families well. Every Bible study, family resource, and homeschool curriculum we create is anchored in Scripture and made to be practical, clear, and easy to use, because we know your days are already full.

We believe the best learning happens when families gather around God's Word together, so we create resources that work across ages and stages to make that time meaningful, approachable, and real.

  • What do you believe?

We are Bible-believing evangelical Christians. It's our mission to create products that handle the Word of God accurately and literally. We aim to get families into the Word for themselves and challenge them to read and think about it carefully rather than relying on the words and ideas of others. We believe all families should be asking about the theology of the resources they use, as nothing is neutral and everything has a worldview. Here is what we believe:

The Bible is God's Word and the final authority for everything we believe and how we live. It is completely true and trustworthy in all that it says, given to us by God down to its very words. There is one God who has always existed as three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God created all things, including human beings, by His own direct act. Salvation is a free and forever-secure gift, received by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus came in human flesh, was born of a virgin, and rose bodily from the grave. He will one day return in person, in His own body, to reign on the earth for a thousand years. This return will be personal, bodily, and premillennial.
