Don’t Blow Up: A Bible Study Seeking God’s Way Instead of Anger

Don’t Blow Up: A Bible Study Seeking God’s Way Instead of Anger

"It's not my fault! She made me so angry!"

Has something like that been shouted in your house? Has a door been slammed, or has one of your kids given the other the silent treatment? No matter how much culture might imply that it's cool, anger is always wrong when it causes us to sin. It's not cool, and it's not something that is out of our control.

Don't Blow Up is designed to teach kids the truth about anger. By looking at Scripture, we talk about how anger affects us and how we can grow in our ability to handle it God's way. This Bible study about anger:

  • Defines anger and its forms.
  • Discusses the difference between righteous anger and sinful anger.
  • Points kids to the sin in their hearts as the source of wrong anger.

Whether your child "blows up" or retreats into quiet anger, this anger Bible study is the perfect tool to help them grow in godliness and fight anger God's way!

FAQ

There is no scripture written out in our studies, only references. When it comes to growing faith, it's crucial that kids look up passages in the Bible for themselves and our studies are written to help them do that!

We study and write using ESV, as well as a variety of translations. Special attention has been given to make sure kids can answer questions regardless of the translation they are using.

We believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth. Read more here.

This is by far the most common question we get around here. Please check out this video. I'll show you the differences between the levels and walk you through how to use them as a family!

You'll want to purchase one copy per child at their specific age level. This will enable children to study at their level and record their own drawings and responses to the Word.

We highly encourage you to make sure that each child can participate by having their own book on their own level. You can learn more about why in this video.

Each Bible study is a slightly different length, ranging from 20 lessons to 28 lessons. We suggest doing one lesson a day. Most kids find that it takes about 15 minutes a day.

Solid Truths

I do the Junior version of this with my kids at breakfast and it always amazing me how something that’s short can have such depth! I’m so thankful for the brevity of these lessons and how they highlight the Bible’s truths. The challenge and inspiration from these studies is so great! Thank you!

Game Changer

My oldest struggles with handling his anger. We have been working on it with him but once I got this journal, I think he finally started to get it! It's helped him truly understand what we have been talking about & how to implement it.

Great Tool

Don't Blow Up gives both scriptural study and tools that stem from it to help kids understand and deal with anger. In particular, they can identify it and manage it. Touches on consequences and forgiveness.
Our family had the primary and junior guides. We did some time together, but older sis might break off or do her own Bible time. The girls seem to prefer the hard copy form. In the past, I have used both digital and bound for myself. Worked out great for our Girls bible study group. Manageable daily reads and reflections. Would recommend this one, especially if you are interested in focusing on feelings.

Great study , helps you learn how to/remember to curb anger

This has been great so far for my 6 and 9 year olds and I to work through. We have been doing it as a group but I look forward to everyone doing their study individually and then coming together just to discuss!

This study is great for my son who is struggling with anger. It has been really great to work through and helps me with my anger as well!
I love how these studies are also a Bible study for the parent. I wish I had bought the bundle, I’d like to go through the rest of the heavy feelings series.

Amazing Family Discussions

We have had an amazing time doing the Don’t Blow Up Study! The kids are relating and sharing and really digging in! The kids are really starting to learn the way around the Bible more too which is an amazing bonus because at their ages (6, 8, 10) I had no idea where any books were! Love growing with them!

It really sinks in

My children, 10, 8, and 4 are really learning a lot from this study. They quickly realized how their anger and actions were affecting each other. This study gave them knowledge to be able to understand and problem solve how to control their anger. This is a wonderful resource!
