Learning to Live the Beatitudes

Your kids are surrounded by messages about what a good life should look like, from success and popularity to comparison, recognition, and worry. Blessed takes them to Jesus’ own words in the Sermon on the Mount, where they’ll discover that His definition of a blessed life often looks very different from the world’s.

Through 20 days in God’s Word, kids learn how Jesus’ teaching applies to the pressures, choices, and relationships they face every day. They’ll learn to recognize the world’s upside-down messages and turn to what Jesus says instead, giving them biblical truth they can understand and apply in everyday life.

With Blessed, your child will:

Discover Jesus' definition of a blessed life in the Beatitudes

Recognize the world's upside-down messages and name the biblical alternative

See how Jesus’ words apply to everyday choices, pressures, and relationships

Replace worry with active thankfulness and seeking God

Practice giving cheerfully and privately, not for recognition

Blessed doesn't look like the world says it should

The world says you’re blessed if you’re successful, popular, or have more than everyone else. Blessed takes kids through the Beatitudes and points them back to Jesus’ definition of a blessed life, showing how His words apply to everyday pressures like comparison, worry, recognition, and relationships.

How This Series Works

Blessed is part of the five-study Called to Be Bundle, which shows children where they belong in God's story. Kids study at their own age level, get into God’s Word for themselves, and come back together for family discussion. The full bundle gives your family the complete journey from understanding why God created them to learning how He calls them to live.

FAQs

  • Does the study cover all eight Beatitudes?

Yes. Kids spend the first half of the study in the Beatitudes, learning what Jesus meant by meek, merciful, pure in heart, and the rest, one day at a time and in language they can understand. Then they continue through the Sermon on the Mount, learning what it means to be salt and light, love their enemies, give generously, pray, seek God, and choose joy and contentment instead of worry. By the end of 20 days, kids will understand Jesus' definition of a blessed life and what it looks like to live right side up in an upside-down world.

  • What do you believe?

We are Bible-believing evangelical Christians. It's our mission to create products that handle the Word of God accurately and literally. We aim to get families into the Word for themselves and challenge them to read and think about it carefully rather than relying on the words and ideas of others. We believe all families should be asking about the theology of the resources they use, as nothing is neutral and everything has a worldview. Here is what we believe:

The Bible is God's Word and the final authority for everything we believe and how we live. It is completely true and trustworthy in all that it says, given to us by God down to its very words. There is one God who has always existed as three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God created all things, including human beings, by His own direct act. Salvation is a free and forever-secure gift, received by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus came in human flesh, was born of a virgin, and rose bodily from the grave. He will one day return in person, in His own body, to reign on the earth for a thousand years. This return will be personal, bodily, and premillennial.

  • What age level should I buy?

This is by far the most common question we get around here. Please check out this video. I'll show you the differences between the levels and walk you through how to use them as a family!

  • How many copies should I buy?

You'll want to purchase one copy per child at their specific age level. This will enable children to study at their level and record their own drawings and responses to the Word.

We highly encourage you to make sure that each child can participate by having their own book on their own level. You can learn more about why in this video.

  • How long are your studies?

Each Bible study is a slightly different length, ranging from 20 lessons to 28 lessons. We suggest doing one lesson a day. Most kids find that it takes about 15 minutes a day.

  • What version of the Bible do you use?

There is no scripture written out in our studies, only references. When it comes to growing faith, it's crucial that kids look up passages in the Bible for themselves and our studies are written to help them do that!

We study and write using ESV, as well as a variety of translations. Special attention has been given to make sure kids can answer questions regardless of the translation they are using.
