Explore Town Together

The next lesson for your little learner is waiting right down the street. All Around Town turns 20 places in your community into a full year of adventures you can share together. One day you’re playing grocery store in your living room. Next time, you’re walking the produce aisles together.

Each unit includes a parent page with planning tips and a biblical connection, three to five activities, a field trip guide, and pages for your child to draw and talk about what they discovered. Pack the book in their adventure bag, then head out to explore. When you get back home, your child adds a sticker to their tracker map to mark another place they’ve visited.

With All Around Town, your child will:

Get to know their community helpers. Explore 20 places, from the post office to the animal shelter, and learn about the work people do there.

Practice early reading, writing, and math skills. Tracing letters, counting, matching, and putting things in order connect early learning to places they’ll visit.

Learn through pretend play. Playing store or acting out a bucket brigade helps them understand what happens in the places they’re exploring.

Put their discoveries into words. Drawing and talking about each outing gives them practice recalling details and sharing what they noticed.

Make biblical connections to everyday life. A biblical worldview tip in each unit helps you talk together about God’s design and the helpers in your community.

Meet Your Community

A trip to the animal shelter becomes a chance to find the things your child has been learning about. A library visit gives them a closer look at the work a librarian does. Each field trip works three ways: on a regular errand, on a tour you arrange, or at home with the at-home option. You can choose what works for your family and help your child discover more about the places you go together.

Why You’ll Love It:

  • Parent pages guide you through each unit
  • Short activities take 15–20 minutes, 2–3 times a week
  • Explore the places in any order that fits your family
  • At-home options keep learning going between outings
  • A read-aloud suggestion for every location

All Around Town Student Book FAQ

  • Is All Around Town open-and-go?

Yes. Most lessons can be started immediately with minimal preparation.

  • How many copies should I purchase?

One curriculum set per child is recommended so each child can complete activities and fully participate.

  • What if we cannot visit every location?

Every unit includes built-in alternatives, so learning continues whether the location is accessible or not. The curriculum is built to work with your real life, not around perfect conditions.

  • What Bible translation is used?

We want kids in the Word for themselves, so we provide references rather than printed verses. Your family uses the translation you already love.

  • How long does the curriculum last?

The 20-unit curriculum covers a full Pre-K year. Most families work through a unit in 15–20 minutes, two to three times a week. A gentle rhythm that fits naturally into life with a young child.

  • What are the credentials of the Not Consumed team?

The Not Consumed team exists for one purpose: to help your family grow in faith so you can live #NotConsumed. We are homeschool parents with over 220 years of combined homeschooling experience, advanced degrees in education and curriculum design, and a deep love for serving families well.  Everything we create is anchored in Scripture. We keep it practical, clear, and easy to use because we know your days are already full. We believe the best learning happens when families gather around God’s Word together. That’s why we create resources for different ages and stages, so everyone can take part.

  • What do you believe?

We are Bible-believing evangelical Christians. It's our mission to create products that handle the Word of God accurately and literally. We aim to get families into the Word for themselves and challenge them to read and think about it carefully rather than relying on the words and ideas of others. We believe all families should be asking about the theology of the resources they use, as nothing is neutral and everything has a worldview. Here is what we believe:

The Bible is God's Word and the final authority for everything we believe and how we live. It is completely true and trustworthy in all that it says, given to us by God down to its very words. There is one God who has always existed as three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God created all things, including human beings, by His own direct act. Salvation is a free and forever-secure gift, received by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus came in human flesh, was born of a virgin, and rose bodily from the grave. He will one day return in person, in His own body, to reign on the earth for a thousand years. This return will be personal, bodily, and premillennial.
