Fruit of the Tongue Bible Study

Fruit of the Tongue Bible Study

Do you find your kids complaining a lot? Or maybe they tend to speak carelessly, or even say unkind or mean things? They may know that their tongue is out of control, but they don't understand the importance of taming it.

Our Fruit of the Tongue Bible study is designed to help guide kids to an understanding that their words matter–to God and to everyone around them. While looking at Scripture, this study will:

  • Show what the Bible has to say about the impact of our words
  • Teach children the importance of speaking wisely
  • Help them learn how to build and restore relationships by controlling their tongues

FAQ

There is no scripture written out in our studies, only references. When it comes to growing faith, it's crucial that kids look up passages in the Bible for themselves and our studies are written to help them do that!

We study and write using ESV, as well as a variety of translations. Special attention has been given to make sure kids can answer questions regardless of the translation they are using.

We believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth. Read more here.

This is by far the most common question we get around here. Please check out this video. I'll show you the differences between the levels and walk you through how to use them as a family!

You'll want to purchase one copy per child at their specific age level. This will enable children to study at their level and record their own drawings and responses to the Word.

We highly encourage you to make sure that each child can participate by having their own book on their own level. You can learn more about why in this video.

Each Bible study is a slightly different length, ranging from 20 lessons to 28 lessons. We suggest doing one lesson a day. Most kids find that it takes about 15 minutes a day.

Great Study!

This was a great way to help my son understand the way his words can help or hurt. We use the junior level and it was great for my 7 year old but if you wanted something less involved, I would use the level below junior. There is a bunch of writing for the junior level and thoughtful questions in addition to the comprehension parts after the scripture is read.

Amazing study!

We have really enjoyed this study! I purchased the Junior and the Primary version and I love that my girls can do their study together. The kids get so excited when they complete each section and get to add the fruit sticker to the tree. Each day is the perfect amount of reading and questions, it doesn’t take us long to get through and it really changes how our day goes. We try to do our study in the morning and throughout the day I will hear the kids talking about what they learned and they will tell me that they are making an effort to say only good things to each other and use their tongues for good. Such a blessing!

Love these!!

We love these Bible studies. They’re what we use for the Bible curriculum for our homeschool. We love that they’re written in different ways for various age groups and they’re super approachable. The best part is that they’re biblically sound and we never have to wonder if there will be any sketchy theology.
