By exploring familiar places and meeting community helpers, children will develop essential early learning skills while growing in curiosity, confidence, and a love for God’s world.

This curriculum takes kids on a guided journey to explore local businesses, community helpers, and familiar locations, from the post office to the fire station, while incorporating foundational skills in literacy, math, science, and social studies. Every lesson connects real-world experiences to biblical truths, helping children see God’s hand in the world around them.

With All Around Town, learning becomes an adventure that fosters curiosity, builds academic readiness, and nurtures a heart for serving God and others.

All Around Town is written for real Pre-K families, not idealized ones.

The curriculum is organized into 20 community-based units designed to span a full Pre-K year. Most lessons require little to no preparation beyond common household materials. Daily learning typically fits into 15 to 20 minutes, enough to be meaningful without overwhelming a young learner or the parent teaching them.

If a location cannot be visited, practical at-home alternatives are built in so learning continues without interruption.

Learning happens through conversation, movement, role play, and guided activities…not extended seatwork. Skills are introduced gently and reinforced through real-world experiences, so your child builds real understanding, not a stack of completed worksheets.

This curriculum builds readiness without pressure. There is no complicated schedule to maintain, no extra planning required, and no rigid order to follow. Units can be adapted to your location, field trips can be replaced with local or at-home alternatives, and learning can happen naturally, even during regular errands.

It is built for real families and real life.

General Homeschool FAQs

  • What are the credentials of the Not Consumed team?

The Not Consumed team exists for one purpose: to help your family grow in faith so you can live #NotConsumed. We are homeschool parents with over 220 years of combined homeschooling experience, advanced degrees in education and curriculum design, and a deep love for serving families well. Every Bible study, family resource, and homeschool curriculum we create is anchored in Scripture and made to be practical, clear, and easy to use, because we know your days are already full.

We believe the best learning happens when families gather around God's Word together, so we create resources that work across ages and stages to make that time meaningful, approachable, and real.

  • What do you believe?

I believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth.

  • Is the curriculum accredited?

Though schools can be accredited, there is not an accreditation program for curriculum.
