All Around Town is a pre-kindergarten curriculum that helps young learners explore and understand their local community through guided field trips, hands-on activities, and Scripture.
This open-and-go curriculum turns everyday places like the post office, library, grocery store, and park into purposeful learning experiences. Through 20 themed field trips and simple daily activities, your child builds early literacy, math readiness, social awareness, and observation skills while learning to see God’s design in the world around them.
All Around Town is written to be simple to teach and easy to follow.
The curriculum is organized into 20 community-based units designed to span a full Pre-K year. Most lessons require little to no preparation beyond gathering common household materials. Daily learning typically fits into 15 to 20 minutes, making it manageable for young learners.
If a location cannot be visited, practical at-home alternatives are provided.
Learning happens through conversation, movement, role play, and guided activities rather than extended seatwork. Skills are introduced clearly and reinforced through real-world experiences so children understand what they are learning.
This curriculum builds readiness without pressure. You do not need a complicated schedule or extra planning to make this work. Units can be completed in order or adapted to your location, field trips can be replaced with local or at-home alternatives, and learning can even happen during regular errands.
It is built for real families and real schedules.
All Around Town provides the materials needed for hands-on Pre-K learning:
Is All Around Town open-and-go? Yes. Most lessons can be started immediately with minimal preparation.
How many copies should I purchase? One curriculum set per child is recommended so each child can complete activities and fully participate.
What if we cannot visit every location? Each unit includes alternative options that work at home or in nearby spaces.
What Bible translation is used? We are on a mission to get kids into the Word for themselves, so we don't print full verses in the curriculum. Your family can use any translation.
How long does the curriculum last? The 20-unit structure is designed to provide a full Pre-K year with flexible pacing built in.
- A Full-Year Pre-K Curriculum—Structured lessons that provide a rich learning experience while allowing flexibility for each family
- Engaging Lesson Pages—Interactive activities that reinforce key pre-k concepts in literacy, math, and life skills
- Dramatic Play and Hands-On Exploration—Encourage role-playing and real-life skill development through interactive experiences and field trips
- Parent-Friendly Guides—Clear, easy-to-follow instructions that make teaching simple and enjoyable
- Biblically Integrated Learning—Each lesson weaves Scripture into everyday topics, helping children develop a biblical worldview.
All Around Town Pre-K Curriculum Book – A full-year, structured curriculum with engaging lesson pages that build foundational skills in literacy, math, science, and social studies through interactive learning
Matching Game – A hands-on memory game designed to reinforce learning through play
Sticker Book – Reusable stickers and scene pages that enhance creativity and interactive storytelling
Coloring Book - Featuring community helpers, familiar places, and everyday adventures, each page brings your child’s world to life while gently reinforcing early learning concepts.
Sticker Map – A fun, visual tool to track learning adventures and explore community connections
Not at all! The lessons are designed to be open-and-go, meaning minimal prep work is needed. Occasionally, you may need to gather simple materials for activities, but most lessons can be done with little to no advanced planning. Each unit is themed around a location though, so if that is not readily available, you will need to find a virtual option or make a substitution. There are lessons for each unit that are applicable whether or not you visit the location.
I study and write using the KJV and ESV Bibles. However, our products are written with the intent that children and families will look up Scripture in the Bible of their choice. The Biblical Worldview section of the parent planning pages guides age-appropriate conversations with Bible references and discussion questions.
The set includes an All Around Town curriculum book, coloring book, matching game, reusable sticker book, sticker map to track progress, Primary Planner A, and a themed backpack.
You should purchase one curriculum kit per child. Children need to be able to write in their books, track their progress with the sticker map, and have their own game, magnifying glass, and backpack. If you have a younger child, you can purchase an additional coloring book.
This curriculum has 20 field trips and coordinating activities. Material for each trip lasts about 1 week. It is important to know that school happens everywhere! This curriculum gives you freedom to take longer on some trips and also pursue additional activities during the “traditional school year”.
There is a suggested reading list to accompany the units, but the books mentioned are not required. Common household items may be needed for hands-on activities and dramatic play.
God has blessed the Not Consumed team with a great deal of education (including a variety of degrees) and decades of combined homeschool experience. Several team members have subject specific degrees or master's degrees in education, specifically curriculum design.
I believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth.
Though schools can be accredited, there is not an accreditation program for curriculum.
I’ve got 2 kiddos enjoying this and the older kids love listening in as well. Every part of the program is high quality, fun activities and gentle enough for most pre-k children. We love it!
I bought this because I knew it would be a blast. It gives clear focus for making the most of field trips. However, I also recently started using it to meet our states civics requirement and it fits as an age appropriate civics curriculum beautifully.
This is the perfect gentle introduction to prek. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. My daughter is thriving and is so eager to complete the activities and go on field trips.
This is an awesome set thay includes workbook and field trips! What better combination for homeschooling! My 3 year is loving the adventures we have been on.
Purchased this for my now 4 year old. He goes to preschool 3 times a week, but also wanted to supplement at home. He truly loves creating his own scene with stickers and the matching game - Although, he's still trying to understand the matching game rules, but we'll get there. Absolutely love the field trip book and we can't wait to start adding those into our schedule. Even his older sisters (9&7) are looking forward to going to them too! Really excited to start implementing this into our daily routine!
If you must use a preschool curriculum, I highly recommend THIS one. What a wonderful way to teach about a child's community, map skills plus engage in a small amount of table activities like coloring and stickers and a community field trip. Partner this with some good picture books from your trip to the library and this is ALL you will need! I'm actually using this for my adult son with down syndrome who has significant cognitive delay- this is just a great curriculum.
We haven't started using the curriculum yet, but I've been able to read through the whole thing and I cannot wait to get started. Even though its a prek curriculum, my elementary children are going to do it with my preschooler and I'm so excited to start!
