The
Sibling Challenge Journal is the perfect tool to help your kids learn to love their siblings and intentionally build healthy relationships.
We all know sibling relationships are hard. Anytime we live closely with someone our own desires, opinions, and ideas will cause friction in that relationship. But we can't give up! With God's help, we can use tools like this one to help us love well.
Nothing will be mailed to you as this is a digital product. You can print off the file and staple it together. We like to use fun duct tape to secure the staples and keep them from poking.
If you'd like a softcover version, instead of digital, please click here.
HOW TO USE THE SIBLING CHALLENGE JOURNAL
The first step in helping siblings get along is to go through the Bible as a family and learn what God has to say about sibling love. If you haven't had a chance to do that yet, please check out My Brother's Keeper first. It's an easy-to-use Bible study that will make the process simple and fun!
Once you've finished our sibling Bible study, it's time to put what you learned into practice. That's where the Sibling Challenge Journal comes in. You'll review your jobs as a sibling, journal to resolve conflict, meditate on helpful verses, and challenge yourself each week.
This is one of our family's favorite ways to grow sibling relationships! See below for a few of the sections covered in this journal.
JOURNAL SECTIONS
My Job as a Sibling is a review of your job and will serve as helpful information to fall back on when you need reminders. Do this section first before doing any of the other pages in this book.
Sibling Scripture is a collection of the best Bible verses for helping you become a better sibling. These are meant to be colored as you meditate on and memorize them.
We know that spending time with God is how we grow spiritually, but sometimes we get hung up on the details. This self-guided journal will help you study any passage in the Bible.
Dig deeper and experience a meaningful time with God today!
Sitting in the pew can be a struggle for little ones. Instead of giving them something to distract them, give them something to GROW their faith!
This Sermon Notebook will help your children focus on the sermon and get more out of what the pastor is teaching!
Is this something we should do as a family?
This journal is intended for individual use. Although you might talk about it as a family, each child should have their own journal to work in and should be encouraged to complete the challenge on their own. You'd be surprised what a difference just ONE kid who is interested in working on their sibling relationships will do for the whole environment in your home!
What ages is this for?
This journal is recommended for children old enough to read and write on their own. It is especially valuable in the pre-teen and teenage years.
Do we have to complete the Bible study first?
I recommend you complete the sibling Bible study first as a means of laying a strong foundation. However, it's not required.
What do you believe?
I believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth.
How many copies should I buy?
If you are buying digital, you only need one copy. If you plan to share with people outside of your home (like a group, co-op, church, etc.) you will need a site license to do so. Those can be found on each product's page.
If you are buying softcover, you should purchase one copy per child. This will enable children to write in the book, as it is designed to record their drawings and responses to the Word. Please check out this video for more explanation on why this is so important!
This journal pairs beautifully with My Brother’s Keeper to continue the progress made in fostering sibling relationships, as God intended. I absolutely recommend!
What a cute and fun journal. A fun way to bond together
This is such a great tool to help sibling a remember to cherish each other. We could probably redo it each year!
Love how this has gotten my kids to start thinking about others. We loved that we could buy the PDF and print it for each of our kids. There are so many great things to have them do and it has been well thought out.
Great way to help siblings build relationships.
I absolutely love all the my brothers keeper line. The sibling journal is a great add on to the my brothers keeper lesson. We just started homeschooling this year, unexpectedly! Not Consumed has helped me figure everything out every step of the way and also have our family memories we will cherish. You can't go wrong with any of the products available but if you have bickering children and need something to help our with that the my brothers keeper lessons and the sibling journal are definitely the way to go.
My kids really do love each other, but some days it is difficult to see it. This book gave them just the right opportunity to sit down and really think about their relationships and how they view each other and write it down. Funny how that simple act can lead to a heart change and a more joyful day.
