What version of the Bible do you use?

I study and write using the KJV and ESV Bibles. However, my studies are written with the intent that children and families will look up Scripture in the Bible of their choice, with specific attention taken to assure questions can be answered from a variety of translations. So you should be able to use whatever version your family prefers. It's my passion to see kids opening the Bible themselves, so we've been very intentional about this.

I believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth.

What age level should I buy?

This is by far the most common question we get around here. Please check out this video. I'll show you the differences between the levels and walk you through how to use them as a family!

How many copies should I buy?

If you are buying softcover, you should purchase one copy per child. This will enable children to write in the book, as it is designed to record their drawings and responses to the Word.If you are buying digital, you may make as many copies for your own family as needed. It is intended for single-family use only. If you plan to share with people outside of your home (like a group, co-op, church, etc.), you will need a site license to do so. Those can be found on our digital site license page.

How long are your studies?

Each Bible study is a slightly different length, ranging from 20 lessons to 28 lessons. We suggest doing one lesson a day. Most kids find that it takes about 15 minutes a day.

Christmas is full of gift-giving, but Scripture shows us gifts that are far better than anything under a tree. Gifts at the Manger is a 25-day Bible study that helps kids explore the gifts found in the Christmas story and the beauty of the gifts we receive through faith in Jesus. Along the way, they learn how to respond to God with worship, obedience, and love in their everyday lives.

Each day includes a key verse, a key biblical truth, space to reflect and apply, and a closing prayer prompt. Kids mark their progress with a matching sticker for each lesson. The format is age-appropriate, open-and-go, and designed to fit the pace of a busy season while keeping the focus on Christ.

Excellent family study!

We purchased this to focus on through the month of December as part of our school day & it has been absolutely amazing to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and growing our faith as a family! We loved this study for all ages!

Gifts of the Manger is truly a gift

I bought the parent edition primarily to act as a basic Bible study for myself. This little study has brought attention to the endless mercy God has had on us since the beginning of time. He then showed us the most merciful act of giving us his son in human form to sacrifice his life for all our sin. I know this study is very basic but I’m new to the Bible and I find it just right for me.

Great Study!

Enjoying this study with my 9 and 5 year old kids. We like that the stickers are attached in the book so we don't keep misplacing them.

It teaches your family to appreciate more their spiritual gifts rather than the material ones

I LOVE this study. It comes with a nativity scene and 25 present stickers to fill. 25 lessons, one per day before Christmas. I appreciate how the study focuses on all the gifts God has given us and examples of the people around Jesus birth. Then, it focuses on our lives in a very tangible way. This study doesn't come with weekly challenges or outside stickers but it is worth it.

We haven't started the books yet, but we did take a peak and as always what a gift in a lesson! Can't recommend enough for the whole family! :)

Glad we are doing this study!

I am very glad we are doing this study together as a family! I ordered 1 parent guide, 2 junior guides, and 2 primary guides for my family. I took the suggestion to have each of us do our studies on our own; we take about 10 minutes to do this and then gather together to go through and discuss and complete study together. This works well for our family. I always preview the devotion the night before and I usually find a song to go with each day's lesson. A QR code to a song would be a nice addition so that it was already thought out and done for families. One thing that I find time consuming, but important for the flow of gathering together, is that I have to read (and remember) the different parts/questions in each level of guides. I understand that they are age level tailored, but still wish they were a little more similar for discussing together for me as the parent/leader. Another thing is that I almost wish there weren't 25 lessons! If we get behind a day or two (or three!), it feels hard to get caught up again. We will of course just continue with our study past Christmas, but some leeway with a few less lessons (no lesson on days we attend church, youth group, etc.) would feel less overwhelming! Overall, I am happy with the study and look forward to choosing more Bible studies from Not Consumed!!
