This is a good study, especially for anyone looking for a short and sweet way to lead their kiddos in imitating Jesus. I didn't realize it was more of a topical study using (mostly) Scripture from Luke, introducing that Jesus is the Son of God, then talking about his growing-up years and some traits we want to imitate. I expected that it would be a study that went chronologically through the Gospel of Luke, and it isn't that. However, it is good, it is balanced and even includes some nuance that I wasn't sure I should expect. On day 10 in the youth edition, the writer's personal theology comes out when it says, "1 John 1.5-10 teaches that we must admit our sin, and that if we confess our sins to Jesus, He will always forgive us." Meanwhile, the Scripture says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." It doesn't say who to confess our sins to. Adding our own interpretation based on our personal theology is something to watch out for. Overall, I am glad we are using this study, and will potentially pick up others, though I also think it's important to actually read through Scripture rather than just reading through some sections here and there with commentary and then feeling like we know what we are talking about.
