Making Peace Bible Study

Making Peace Bible Study

In a world where everyone has different opinions and values, conflict is inevitable. And anyone with kids knows that conflict is a guarantee in their house. It's impossible for us to hide from conflict in our everyday lives, so what should we do about it?

Making Peace is a 20-day Bible study designed for kids and families to teach biblical conflict resolution and understand the value and importance of being a peacemaker. Whether it's siblings bickering, petty fights between friends, or someone being unkind to your child, this study will give your kids the ability to:

  • Look at Scripture to learn how to handle conflict.
  • Let go of bitterness and anger.
  • Be shown the value and importance of being a peacemaker.
  • Pursue godly resolution and reconciliation!

We all know the gnawing feeling that rears its ugly head as envy. Christians are not exempt, as we see in the case of Charlie, who says, “But don't it seem hard that some folks should have everything, and the other folks nothin’?” Soon Charlie realizes that envy escalates to bitterness, and that his idea of what it's like to have everything is far from the truth.

FAQ

There is no scripture written out in our studies, only references. When it comes to growing faith, it's crucial that kids look up passages in the Bible for themselves and our studies are written to help them do that!

We study and write using ESV, as well as a variety of translations. Special attention has been given to make sure kids can answer questions regardless of the translation they are using.

We believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth. Read more here.

This is by far the most common question we get around here. Please check out this video. I'll show you the differences between the levels and walk you through how to use them as a family!

You'll want to purchase one copy per child at their specific age level. This will enable children to study at their level and record their own drawings and responses to the Word.

We highly encourage you to make sure that each child can participate by having their own book on their own level. You can learn more about why in this video.

Each Bible study is a slightly different length, ranging from 20 lessons to 28 lessons. We suggest doing one lesson a day. Most kids find that it takes about 15 minutes a day.

Useful resource with our children

Going through this as a family, and I've got to say, the way the lessons based on Scripture are presented for our younger kiddos so they can understand is so helpful. It has helped my children better understand what a Godly peacemaker is, pointing them to God's word as the main source for gaining wisdom. And pointing to our need for Christ in every lesson, the one who truly gives peace.

Our family did this Bible study last year and my kids still remember things that they learned from it. I really like the bookmarks, because the kids keep using them over and it reminds them every time they pick up their book!
