Does teaching responsibility and good work habits seem impossible to you?
We all want to have responsible kids, but sometimes it can be easier to do things ourselves than to require diligence from them. But easy can come at a cost. When we don't help our kids see the value of hard work, we aren't equipping them for the life God has for them!
In this Bible study, Work Unto the Lord, we will learn where the idea of work comes from, how God has uniquely designed us for the work He has given us, and how we can develop good work habits that help us fulfill God's calling in our lives.
Work is a gift from God! Are you ready to learn how you can see it that way too?

Why you'll love this Bible study
The study spans 4 weeks with 5 lessons a week.
Our Bible studies are available in 4 levels that work together perfectly for family study. Each lesson has a consistent key truth, key Scripture, and central theme no matter what age level your kids are working in.
Each study in the family Bible study bundle also comes with a fun pack including verse cards, stickers, and a bookmark.
Parent Guide
Our parent guide is the perfect addition to help you easily facilitate family Bible study. Each day, you will progress through the same main ideas and key passages your kids will be studying. Plus, we've added parent tips along the way to help you lead the discussion as a family.
Having the whole family thinking on the same key truths of Scripture will create a more natural environment to talk about the Lord. We know you'll love it!
Help the Bible come to life for your kids through award-winning audio dramas. The Work Unto the Lord Bible study bundle makes an excellent faith-filled gift as it encourages spiritual growth through engaging Bible study, exciting audio drama, and daily truth reminders (that just so happen to look pretty cool).
This CD is supplemental and can be used before, during, or after your study. You decide!
Malcolm and the Missing Prince (Ages 8+)
Young Prince Hubert is incorrigible, unmanageable, and tiresomely demanding. What is the good King to do? How will his selfish Prince ever learn to rule the kingdom well? His most trusted friend, Sir Malcolm, has a plan. Prince Hubert is swept away to a land where he is simply known as Hugh, a peasant boy. His silks are replaced with rough work clothes, his castle dwelling with a humble cottage. It is here that Hugh learns valuable life lessons from the widow of the forest.
What version of the Bible do you use?
I study and write using the KJV and ESV Bibles. However, my studies are written with the intent that children and families will look up Scripture in the Bible of their choice, with specific attention taken to assure questions can be answered from a variety of translations. So you should be able to use whatever version your family prefers. It's my passion to see kids opening the Bible themselves, so we've been very intentional about this.
What do you believe?
I believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth.
What age level should I buy?
This is by far the most common question we get around here. Please
check out this video. I'll show you the difference between the levels and walk you through how to use them as a family!
How many copies should I buy?
If you are buying digital, you only need one copy. If you plan to share with people outside of your home (like a group, co-op, church, etc) you will need a site license to do so. Those can be found on each product's page.
If you are buying softcover, you should purchase one copy per child. This will enable children to write in the book as it is designed to recording their drawings and responses to the Word.
How long are your studies?
Each Bible study is a slightly different length ranging from 20 lessons to 28 lessons. We suggest doing one lesson a day. Most kids find that it takes about 15 minutes a day.

"What The Bible Says About Work || Family Bible Study Flip Through || Not Consumed"
YouTube, uploaded by Life in the Mundane, Jun 19, 2021
We are doing this study currently and are really enjoying it! Thank you!
I picked up this study because my children were struggling with a deplorable work ethic. They were constantly complaining about the slightest little thing they were asked to do and continually spoke about how boring their chores were or asked why they had to work at all. Despite consistent instruction on Bible verses and reminders, they simply weren't receiving the truth from me as their mother. Enter the Bible study, which presented the same truths I had been attempting to teach in daily bite-size concepts all connected to the idea of work. Contrary to how discussions had previously gone, once we dove into this study, my kids were more eager to share their takeaways and even engage in discussion with me about the questions presented. It's not that what was included was any different than what I had already shared. It's just that the truths were coming from someone or something other than Mom or Dad. :)
The 4 different levels covering the same topic are really helpful. I pick up the middle one for my son and the youth for my daughter in addition to the parent guide, and we all complete our 2 pages each day together, discussing as presented. We also have a sharing time and a key takeaway once we finish. The idea of being specifically gifted and created for work, and the responsibility to work because we are part of a greater purpose and plan was such fantastic perspective, and it drove home the point of what I had been trying to help my children understand. The questions and concepts to ponder helped my children gain insight and view the meaning of work from a different perspective which enabled them to form their own personal application and understanding.
No tip-toeing around the truth with this one! Hit hard, yet with grace, and told each reader to not only understand the purpose of work but also accept the responsibility that comes with living on this earth. Great stuff!
I still recall how this study helped even myself learn about work in God's sight.. highly recommend
I loved studying this topic with my kids. I needed a place to start in teaching them work theology and this was just the thing. These studies have gotten us into God's Word independently and as a family for several months now and I always look forward to purchasing more!
We are going to be starting this soon and I can’t wait! We value teaching our children why working and the attitudes we have while working is so important. We will be starting it as part of our homeschool once we finish Keep Thy Tongue.
I started this study with my 14 year old daughter today. It is well written and enjoyable. It even led us on a rabbit trail of talking about ants! I love Not Consumed's studies.
My 11 and 13 year old kids and I have done 3 days of the study together. I love the adaptations for both age groups. The material for each day is packed with good points and scripture but concise enough to not overwhelm my kids. I am a new huge fan of this line of studies. I will be purchasing more in the future.
The material is very nicely presented. The memory verse cards are sturdy and attractive. We started using the study and cards two weeks ago. Right now I’m having difficulty getting our son interested but we’re continuing anyway. I’m hoping once we do this on a regular basis, he’ll be more into it. He’s in his forties and has Down’s syndrome as well as being autistic. If nothing else, he’s hearing the Word!
This study is not just for learning how to be a good employee when your kid grows up, it is about what God wants us to reflect in every area of our lives where we have a responsibility. If you are a parent and want to teach these wonderful disciplines to your kids, sometime the problem is how to do it in a way that they will understand without being harsh. These Bible studies for kids help you in your journey as parent. Picture what you want your kid to be as adult handling responsibilities; it starts when they are little. This book comes with 20 lessons. I got the primary level; and the lessons are short and simple, with a real life example and conversational tone. The parent will read the first page along with some Bible verses, and the kid will complete the second page with a drawing or coloring activity. The lesson ends with a simple prayer. Get them while your kids are young, don't wait! And if you have older kids, do these studies together as a family.
