God's Story Old Testament Bible Study

God's Story Old Testament Bible Study

Are your kids learning “Bible stories,” or are they learning all of God’s Story?

The Bible is not a compilation of stories we can cherry-pick our morals from. Instead, those stories fit together into the most incredible story—God's story!

In this Bible Study, we will embark on an incredible journey through the Old Testament, discovering the faithfulness of God through the lives of His people, and our desperate need for a Savior. We're not here to explain every detail, but instead want to teach you how to see God's story, asking yourself as you read, "what is God doing here?"

In this 6-week study of the Old Testament for kids, teens, and families, you will:

  • Help your kids see God's incredible purpose by making connections between stories in the Bible
  • Teach your kids to understand the Truth of God’s Word
  • Encourage your kids to pursue God above all else!

FAQ

I study and write using the KJV and ESV Bibles. However, my studies are written with the intent that children and families will look up Scripture in the Bible of their choice, with specific attention taken to assure questions can be answered from a variety of translations. So you should be able to use whatever version your family prefers. It's my passion to see kids opening the Bible themselves, so we've been very intentional about this.

I believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth.

This is by far the most common question we get around here. Please check out this video. I'll show you the differences between the levels and walk you through how to use them as a family!

If you are buying softcover, you should purchase one copy per child. This will enable children to write in the book, as it is designed to record their drawings and responses to the Word.

If you are buying digital, you may make as many copies for your own family as needed. It is intended for single-family use only. If you plan to share with people outside of your home (like a group, co-op, church, etc.), you will need a site license to do so. Those can be found on our digital site license page.

Each Bible study is a slightly different length, ranging from 20 lessons to 28 lessons. We suggest doing one lesson a day. Most kids find that it takes about 15 minutes a day.

This study is exactly what we have been looking for to gather in God’s word and dive into truth. It is perfectly appropriate for my daughters ages 9 and 11. Having the study has helped us establish devotion time. It’s definitely the highlight of our mornings together. Thank you for an amazing and affordable resource. I will definitely order more studies in the future.

I love this study! This is perfect for our family. I love how they come in different age levels including a parent guide so we can follow along. They are easy for the kids to understand and learn more about Our amazing God. They also come with fun little stickers, challenge cards and bookmark. I can't wait to order more of the other studies. These also make a great add on to our homeschool curriculum.

Love the different levels

I bought one of these at the youth and one at the junior level. I love that my kids will have to think for themselves and can't just copy/paste from each other. But then because we are studying the same thing they can have a discussion about the topic. Thank you for branching out and offering different levels.

Just right

I got this study for my 10 and 8 year old. It has the perfect amount of studying to keep them interested without being too much like work. Love the way it is set up and how there are two separate studies for the Old and New Testament.

Fun, Simple introduction for all the Old Testament books

This is a great study. It goes over all the Books of the Bible, one lesson per book for a total of 31 days with 1 introduction and one final review. This is not a Bible story book or book about people of the Bible, but instead, it introduces the main concept of each book in a simple manner. I love the attention to detail from this company. The language is simple for a kid to understand. You read all the text, and it guides you really well. It relates the child to real life examples and application. It asks you to read 2 to 3 verses a day. After reading and discussion, your child can complete the activity, which is drawing or coloring, but it makes them think. Then the book offers a very short and simple prayer and your kid peels the sticker for the book and places it in the bookshelf at the beginning of the book. I purchased the primary level for my kindergartener because I want him to learn and understand the Bible better than I did when I was his age. This is a great way to start teaching your kid in a very short, engaging, fun and real way. Purchase this study, it is a great, well thought product!
