Don’t Blow Up: A Bible Study Seeking God’s Way Instead of Anger

Don’t Blow Up: A Bible Study Seeking God’s Way Instead of Anger

"It's not my fault! She made me so angry!"

Has something like that been shouted in your house? Has a door been slammed, or has one of your kids given the other the silent treatment? No matter how much culture might imply that it's cool, anger is always wrong when it causes us to sin. It's not cool, and it's not something that is out of our control.

Don't Blow Up is designed to teach kids the truth about anger. By looking at Scripture, we talk about how anger affects us and how we can grow in our ability to handle it God's way. This Bible study about anger:

  • Defines anger and its forms.
  • Discusses the difference between righteous anger and sinful anger.
  • Points kids to the sin in their hearts as the source of wrong anger.

Whether your child "blows up" or retreats into quiet anger, this anger Bible study is the perfect tool to help them grow in godliness and fight anger God's way!

FAQ

I study and write using the KJV and ESV Bibles. However, my studies are written with the intent that children and families will look up Scripture in the Bible of their choice, with specific attention taken to assure questions can be answered from a variety of translations. So you should be able to use whatever version your family prefers. It's my passion to see kids opening the Bible themselves, so we've been very intentional about this.

I believe that the Bible is the absolute authority in matters of faith and practice. It's 100% true, with no exceptions or figurative sections. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture; in one God eternally existing in three Persons; in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God; in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection; in the personal, bodily, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His millennial reign on earth.

This is by far the most common question we get around here. Please check out this video. I'll show you the differences between the levels and walk you through how to use them as a family!

If you are buying softcover, you should purchase one copy per child. This will enable children to write in the book, as it is designed to record their drawings and responses to the Word.

If you are buying digital, you may make as many copies for your own family as needed. It is intended for single-family use only. If you plan to share with people outside of your home (like a group, co-op, church, etc.), you will need a site license to do so. Those can be found on our digital site license page.

Each Bible study is a slightly different length, ranging from 20 lessons to 28 lessons. We suggest doing one lesson a day. Most kids find that it takes about 15 minutes a day.

Simple and straightforward

I let my 11 year old daughter pick which study she wanted to start with and she chose this. I like the material because it is not too time consuming for my 11 and 7 year old. My 11 year old will read and answer the questions on her own, then we discuss them together. My 7 year old will review with me as she is still learning to read big words. I love that the bible verses are easy to study because I've always had a hard time memorizing scripture. If someone in the house get's angry, I'm able to remember a verse and gently remind the girls (and myself). The books are beautifully crafted and just the right size for everyone. The girls loved the stickers and the challenge cards that came with the books. I look forward to purchasing more study materials. Keep up the great work!

Sincere and helpful

My second born often lacks patience with others. While her intentions aren’t malicious, it is beginning to wear on her siblings. We generally choose to do NC studies as a family, but this one seemed appropriate for her to meditate on her own without having to share. Very grateful for this God honoring resource.

I love this devotional! I got it for my 7 year old and me and my husband both did the parent guy along with him. Amazing we will definitely be doing it again and again as my 7-year-old progresses through the different levels. Highly recommend this. Can't wait to try the other feelings devotionals

We started this study after the first of the year as a family and so far it's been a great tool for all of us to rethink being angry about things. It's so easy to react in the moment or let things simmer and then explode. Praying this will help us "renew our minds" to be more like Christ in the new year! Great study so far!!!

Excellent

My children and I have been loving this Bible study so far! I love the way it breaks down anger and provides "tools" to use in times of anger. Great job on this one, and we can't wait to read the next two.
