When I say spend quiet time/do your devotions to my children, it clicks now. Before they would try to just read a verse fast and say they were done. We would try to discuss the importance of spending time with God to know God, but still no success.
The Developing a Quiet Time study allowed the kids to see the importance of the time spent with God to be focused on Him, His worthiness, His teaching for us and how we are to praise Him for it. We love the verse cards and work on memorizing them together as a family.
I appreciate the devotion journals- perfect for them to continue to use long after the study is over. The journal has a unique rotation of Journaling their quiet time so their devotions wont become monotonous.
Definitely recommended this study!
We’ve just started this particular study, but we already love it. My oldest loves “tasks” and check marking this boxes while my youngest loves drawing . I love the discussion question .
This was a great quick little study to reach kids about what a relationship with Jesus is like in a practical way. Nice bite sized pieces for kids with small attention spans.
I have absolutely loved this resource for my kids to learn how to do a quiet time!! I have been a Christian for 33 years and have always struggled with exactly how a quiet time should look. Of course there are many ways! But I love this model and it is so doable for kids and adults alike!
We've been slow to start but so far, I love this devo! I love the memory verse cards and my little one loves the stickers! 😃 We look forward to finishing this one and starting a new one!
My 2 stepsons are 10 and 12, so we decided it was time for them to start learning how to do a quiet time. This was a great age-appropriate way to get them started. I really like that it taught the reasons why a daily quiet time is so important along with how to do it. Our boys would do a daily page each day and then we would come together as a family to review each evening. It was great!
Love this series. After many years of parenting I’ve finally found a Bible study to do with my two children and they are fully engaged in it-even though they are 7 and 14 (sometimes the age gap makes it hard to find group activities!). It’s really helped me to be disciplined too. Thanks for this study. Very well put together and the different books for different age groups is spot on!
This was the first Not Consumed study our family did and the boys (8 & 10) loved it. We started doing it together and then during their quiet time, they would finish it up. We would review what they learned at dinner. They asked for another and they are currently doing "Do Right" with their Daddy.
This study has been wonderful for my daughter. She’s truly digging into scripture and learning the importance of spending time with God every day.
