Love this series. After many years of parenting I’ve finally found a Bible study to do with my two children and they are fully engaged in it-even though they are 7 and 14 (sometimes the age gap makes it hard to find group activities!). It’s really helped me to be disciplined too. Thanks for this study. Very well put together and the different books for different age groups is spot on!
This was the first Not Consumed study our family did and the boys (8 & 10) loved it. We started doing it together and then during their quiet time, they would finish it up. We would review what they learned at dinner. They asked for another and they are currently doing "Do Right" with their Daddy.
This study has been wonderful for my daughter. She’s truly digging into scripture and learning the importance of spending time with God every day.
My three kids and I have been doing this study for about 9 days (we had to take a pause while one went to camp) and they are really learning the components of quiet time. I pray they will be able to put them to good use independently after day 28.
My kids and I LOVE coming together and sharing our study times in these books. I LOVE that there's a parent guide now (and so do they)! These have been such a blessing in our home, and I always look forward to new ones coming out! :) This particular study has really shown my kiddos the value of their quiet times and they worked more this time than before on the scripture memory. This time is so precious.
great tool for helping my kids get in the Word and put it into practice.
I am a first time homeschooling Mom, after we moved to California mid-2020 and I decided my kids would not be signed up for public school in this state. I had heard from a few other Homeschool mommas that used these devotions with their kids- so I decided to give it a try. They are challenging, but in a great way that promotes positive faith habits . I like that there’s different age level appropriate booklets for the same topics that way the whole family can do them together and stay engaged and not get lost.
Kids need opportunities to learn these complex ideas and belief system in a way that nurtures their little minds/souls in a age appropriate way.
I’m grateful to have found these studies!
My 10- and 12-year-old really enjoyed this study! I bought the parent guide so I could do it with them and keep them accountable, but it turned out being the other way around. By the end they were the ones inspiring me to catch up and finish the study! I love so many things about the format - the GROWS acronym, length of each devotional, guiding questions, helpful tips, and fun extras like stickers and bookmarks. The study was age-appropriate (we had the junior and youth versions), engaging and fun. My kids are asking me buy another study, so I will definitely be doing that! What a blessing to see my kids enjoying God’s Word! Thank you for developing these resources with that purpose in mind, and may He continue to bless your ministry and build His kingdom through us!
I will be the first to admit that I'm terrible at having a quiet time. And with that comes tons of guilt. So I really wasn't excited when God kinda shoved this study in my face because I was sure it was only going to make me feel even more guilty that not only did I fail but I was failing my kids. WRONG. This study is the essence of God's grace - teaching you and your kids practical strategies of how to develop a relational quiet time with lots of encouragement. I also took Kim's Devotional Method course which was so helpful in just the practical aspects of how to set up my quiet time AND help my kids develop that habit without it being a chore. I highly recommend that course as a precursor to this devotional study. My kids love that they have their own book (and tools, per the course's recommendations) and so they really don't mind getting up and spending some time with God before their day gets started. Thank you, Kim for helping us develop this habit without any guilt. My whole family is excited to do the next study!
