Still Singing: Hymn Stories For Every Season

We are loving the hymn study! It is a great way for the kids to learn more about the hymns and also learn to play with the tin whistle too.

I've had my eye on this product for awhile and finally buckled down and bought it. It does not disappoint! My oldest daughter wanted me to start music class immediately after we received the book with the tin whistle!

We absolutely love the Still Singing Hymn Study! My two teenage daughters are going through it with me as part of our homeschool curriculum. I can’t say enough good about it! You learn musical theory concepts, plus how to play the tin whistle (purchased separately), and it is a hymn study. For the hymn study, you’re going to dig into the background of the hymn and the person who wrote it. Then you learn to play the hymn on the whistle. It lines up perfectly to play seasonal hymns at the right times of the year. We’re learning so much and enjoying playing the hymns together on our whistles! I highly recommend it!

This was the very first thing I ever purchased when we started homeschooling and it was a huge win. Three years later, my son still loves his tin whistle and considers it one of his gifts. We loved learning the stories behind why some of our favorite hymns were written. I love the layout of each hymn- history, music theory, hands on activities. I highly recommend this study and hope others will be written.

I’m so happy I found the hymn study book! It was on my heart to add hymn singing to our homeschool mornings over the summer, but I wasn’t quite sure how to implement that. I got this so that my children could work on Bible lessons and music. This product is so awesome that it includes not only the Bible lessons, but also music and history of the hymn given in a very attractive way. My girls are so excited to begin this journey with me! Thank you for your hard work!

Love this!! The book comes with a cd of the hymns being sung and played on the tin whistle. It also comes with digital content, where you will find video lessons on how to read music, and how to play the tin whistle. Inside the book, you will learn about the writer and history of the hymns, music lessons , and Bible lessons. Also included are fun activities, extension activities, and the sheet music for the hymns. You will want to purchase the tin whistle from Not Consumed to go with the book. I have wanted our family to memorize hymns and learn to read music. This helps us do both in a fun way!

Although we are only on our second week. We are loving this study! A nice quick info on the hymn. Music theory and the videos are so helpful. My kids are excited and enjoying it. I can see myself using this for years to come.

What an amazing resource!!! The book is laid out beautifully. The information is interesting, full of facts, yet succinct. There are various activities to keep the study interesting and fun. I would highly recommend this to anyone I know.
